Originally known as the Laromme, the hotel was designed by architect Ya’acov Rechter.[1] It opened in 1982 on a tract of land adjacent to the Liberty Bell Garden owned by one of the churches in Jerusalem and leased by the Jerusalem Municipality. The original plan was to build a 20-story hotel, but neighborhood protests led to a low-rise design.
Notable guests include Bill Clinton, Al Gore[2], Henry Kissinger, George Mitchell, Condoleezza Rice, Mikhail Gorbachev, Madeleine Albright and Dennis B. Ross.
Organizations that often patronize the conference facilities include the Jewish Agency for Israel, Emunah, Hadassah, AJC and JNF. The Inbal recently hosted the Jerusalem branch of the Global event "Twestival".The event is based on the Social Media tool- Twitter,, and successfully brought more than 200 people together for an evening of entertainment and charity. More than $3,000 was raised for a local Jerusalem-based charity.
